A fresh coat of polish–it pulls together your look, can match your vibrant personality, and adds a bright spot to your day.

When you book an appointment for your favorite manicure or pedicure, you expect a fabulous, relaxing experience. With the right spa or salon it’s easy to achieve, but you can also optimize your experience making sure you do the following:

Book an appointment at a convenient time

Squeezing in a little pampering time can feel as tough as running a marathon. But in order to have the best possible experience, you’ll want to book your appointment when when you can actually enjoy your time and not be focused on the next to-do on your list. In addition, plan enough of a cushion before your next appointment to let your nails set and dry.

Wear the right clothes

You look great in your skinny jeans, but they may not be the best for enjoying a relaxing foot soak. Make sure pants legs and/or sleeves can easily be rolled up so they don’t get wet. This also gives better access for the massage part of your treatment–always a plus! In addition, be sure to pack sturdy flip flops to tackle the day without messing up your fresh polish.

Do a little prep work

To make sure your technician gets to spend optimal time on the best parts of the experience, do some simple prep work by removing your polish prior to your appointment.

Arrive early

If you’re heading to a spa like Lookworthy, most likely you’ll be asked to fill out paperwork with your basic information. Arriving early gets the paperwork out of the way and doesn’t run into your pampering time.

Be honest

If you have any health conditions, such as diabetes, that require special attention during a treatment, please be sure to be open and honest! We always want you to have the best experience possible, and that means making sure you are kept safe and healthy.

Invest in maintenance

Let’s face it: life is hard on your hands on feet. While regular mani/pedi appointments will help keep them in shape, investing in the right products can help prolong their health. We love Footlogix Pediceuticals, which we use for our Medi Pedicures, to keep feet soft and healthy, and Jane Iredale HandDrink with SPF 15 for bathing hands in moisture and protection.
