Microneedling

Microneedling is one of the leading skincare treatments to target acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, lost elasticity, and more common skincare concerns.

What is microneedling?

The microneedling treatment utilizes 9 mincroneedles to create a series of invisible perforations in the skin. Once perforated, the skin’s natural healing mechanisms take over, stimulating collagen and elastin production and treating skin from the inside out.

The revitalizing RP Complex serum is also applied during the microneedling treatment, with the treatment’s perforations allowing optimal absorption and effects.

Microneedling has shown spectacular results in improving the appearance of acne scars, wrinkles and pigmentation problems. Pore size is often reduced and skin is left tighter and firmer.

How Lookworthy Does Microneedling Differently

If you're familiar with microneedling, chances are you've seen a photo of a person who looks like they've been the victim in a bloody horror film fight. Scary, right?

The good news is that at Lookworthy we've adopted a completely different approach to microneedling. We focus on fast, easy passes of the device over the face--just enough to do the trick of stimulating the collagen production WITHOUT creating intense bleeding (some may bleed slightly but it's rare and very very minimal). Less intensity means we can do the treatments closer together, which means the treatment series isn't dragged out for months, and it also means there’s less downtime AND discomfort during recovery. Most of our clients see redness starting to fade within a few hours and be completely gone within 24 hours.

What parts of the body can microneedling be performed?

Our microneedling system is a multi-use tool that can treat many trouble spots on the body, including:

  • upper cheek, lower cheek and jawline

  • chin

  • upper lip

  • periorbital and under eye area

  • forehead

  • nose

  • neck

  • décolleté

  • breast

  • stomach

  • arms

  • thighs

Is microneedling painful?

A topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area approximately 15 minutes prior to treatment to help eliminate pain. Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, though mild discomfort is common. The microneedling tool can also be adjusted to different settings that allow us to address different skin types and sensitivities.

What is the recovery period after a microneedling session?

After a treatment your skin will likely look and feel as if you have a mild to moderate sunburn, depending on your skin’s sensitivity. These side effects typically subside in 24 – 36 hours. The healing process sometimes includes mild peeling in the five to seven days after treatment.

Do I need to take any precautions following a treatment?

Sun exposure should be limited immediately following a treatment, and sunscreen is highly recommended in the days immediately following. Keeping skin clean and avoiding areas such as public gyms, where bacteria can be picked up, for the first few days is also optimal. We recommend purchasing the recovery kit system for the ideal recovery experience.

When will I see results?

Some see results immediately following treatment, while others see them emerge in the days following.

How many treatments do I need?

We recommend 6 treatments for optimal results.

How much does it cost?

A package of 6 microneedling sessions (our recommendation for the best result outcome) is $1050.
